Summer Wishlist | My Pick of the Sales

Sumer sales edit, Bumpkin BettyWe really have been basking in the smug glory of a true British summer recently haven’t we? And the non stop sunshine has certainly been lovely, albeit slightly stressful when it comes to keeping a baby cool.

But, seeing as the last time I encountered any real sun was this time last year when I was in maternity clothing, and before that when I was on honeymoon and, well, a whole lot skinnier, I’ve been throwing out that classic ‘I have NOTHING to wear!’ line almost daily. Except in this case, there’s actually a lot of truth to it. When the height of the heatwave hit last week I ran to my local Primark and picked up a bunch of loose T-shirts that were breezy yet breastfeeding friendly and I’ve been living in those while making browsing summer clothes online my main pastime.

But the good news (well not good news for your bank balance) is that the summer sales have begun! So there’s no better time to stock up on some new summery garbs (or in my case a whole new wardrobe) for either this (hopefully) continuing British summer or for any upcoming getaways you have planned.

I’ve pulled together some of my most coveted pieces from a few of my favourite high street stores, which also now just happen to be total bargains (I’m sorry!). There’s definitely a running theme to my current wishlist – I’m clearly loving all things gingham, pink and denim, but hey if you are too, you’ll love my picks below! I’ve already picked up a few of these items for myself and of course, it’s inevitable that the minute they arrive in the post it will start raining again. Oh well, another reason to book up a sunshine holiday soon!

I always head to Topshop during their sale to pick up some of the shoes and boots I’d lusted over but couldn’t justify all season and this time is no different. But also check out their dresses section for some gorgeous summer occasion wear, and I’m loving some of their jackets too (that pink trench!!).

Asos is probably somewhere we all go a little wild during the sale period. I mean, they’ve got absolutely everything and their discounts are usually really good. I’m loving that pink and red gingham top (as seen on the gorgeous Liv) as well as their punchy coloured jumpsuits and the humble tasselled earring.

Mango was never somewhere I shopped very regularly… until this year. They have majorly stepped up their game in the last 6 months or so, and frankly it’s my favourite store at the moment. I adore their accessories, in particular their bags which look far more luxury than their price tags suggest, and their sale features some mega bargains in the form of pretty floaty dresses, feminine button up tops and some seriously chic footwear.

Again not somewhere I tend to shop as often but during sale periods grabs my attention. Their edit is more refined than the likes of Asos and Topshop (not such a bad thing – more room to breathe when online shopping and less chance of filling your basket with the unnecessary) but they are winning when it comes to chic dresses perfect for weddings and occasions, and all things summer workwear.

New Look

New Look is your go to for trend led bargains. Everything from cold shoulder tops to gingham heels. These pieces might end up being one summer wonders but at those prices you needn’t worry.

I couldn’t possibly round up every single high street store I shop at for this post but needless to say there are plenty others with great sales on too. I’ve picked up a few pieces from H&M already including this dress which everyone is wearing at the moment, and Anthropologie are worth checking out for jewellery and accessories.

Happy Shopping!

Looooove this. I’ve just bookmarked about half of these items haha. Quick Q: the blue ruffled spaghetti strap dress from the main image. Where is it from? <3 so pretty!

Hey Katy! Glad you’ve spotted a few things you like! That dress is from H&M – it’s the one I mentioned at the bottom of the post, they have some great bargains but silly reward style won’t let me create a list from there! xx
