Summer Must Have | Statement Earrings

4 of the best statement earrings on the high street, Bumpkin BettyI’m ALL about the accessories right now. As you all know, apart from my husband and baby, few things in life make me happier than a new pair of shoes, but lately I’ve also been feeling the love for bags, jewellery and hair accessories too. I think it’s something to do with the fact that clothes shopping is a little trickier right now with my post baby body, and just like with pregnancy dressing, the shoes always fit.

One trend I’m really loving for summer is the statement earring look – this season, they’re big, they’re bright and they’re totally over the top and I’m digging it. Besides with a little un’ whose getting pretty good at grabbing anything within her arms reach and pulling hard, who knows how much longer I’ll be able to sport earrings like this.

The high street has really come up trumps with this trend and there’s plenty of affordable styles around to choose from. Below are four of my current faves (most of which are now on sale) and a little shopping edit of the ones I’m still coveting.

Flower Earrings – Mango | Playsuit – New Look | Lipstick – Cosmic Peony by Bobbi Brown

Pink + navy + floral + a touch of bling, there’s nothing not to love about these stand out drop earrings from Mango. They instantly dress up a casual outfit like this summery off shoulder playsuit from New Look, and they look equally good with a chic dress too. I’m obsessed with Mango’s jewellery collection at the moment and this pair have gone into the sale so are a total bargain.

I think every blogger and their mother has a pair of tassel earrings from H&M and they definitely are my go to shop for affordable on trend styles. They aren’t brilliant quality and can hurt the old earlobes after prolonged wearing, but great for a night out or a one off. I missed out on that infamous bright red tassel pair that EVERYONE seems to have, but these darker red and gold pair came in a close second. You might need to shop in store to find them, but I believe they were under £7!

Pink Earrings – Topshop | Femme Forever T-shirt – Topshop | Lipstick – Kate Moss for Rimmel Lasting Finish

Another pink pair (sorry if pink isn’t your thing but I can’t help it!) this time from Topshop – I like to think this pair are a little dressier than the others and have a bit of a sassy powerful female vibe about them. So they’d look great with an equally sassy power suit, but I settled for my Femme Forever tee instead. Pink and red – forever my favourite combination.

I’ve since discovered that this H&M pair actually also come in pink – so naturally I’ll probably be snapping them up too, but since I’ve bombarded you with enough pink pairs already let’s concentrate on the black for now. These have a slight flamenco dancer look to them (but we won’t hold that against them) and wearing them immediately makes me feel like I’m on holiday – you know those hot summer evenings when you’re abroad that you feel like you can dress just that little more ‘out there’ than usual.

Are you a fan of statement earrings? They are definitely my summer must have this season, shop some of my favourites below!

Thanks for this. I love statement piece of jewellery but always feel overwhelmed when I see them all in a shop. Will definitely be buying a pair this weekend! Also (and sorry, I feel I am always spouting baby “advice” to you but please feel free to ignore), I never let having a baby put me off wearing dangly earrings as I bloody love them. I was just very strict from the off that jewellery should not be pulled at. From an early age (probably from about the age that Evie is now), if she grabbed earrings or a necklace, I would gently “grab” her hand and tell her No, you dont pull jewellery and it honestly worked. I never stopped wearing dangly earrings and other mums were in awe haha. The only problem was I forgot other children weren’t like that and did get my earrings yanked a few times by other kids! xx
