Considering the setting of this outfit post, I feel it should be called stars and stripes but alas, my new neon sweater had other shapes in mind.
This what what I wore on our second day in NYC and after freezing my butt off the day before, I was so glad to be layered up and super cosy with this get up. I wasn’t taking any chances and wore two pairs of thick denier tights and a pair of spotty knee high socks (M&S aren’t they cute?).
I picked up this black jersey skirt from H&M just before I left for New York knowing that it’s extreme comfort and ability to house a food baby would be most welcomed, which it was. It’s a high waisted number with a slight flare fit and is one of those basic essentials that a wardrobe needs, going with everything and helping to eliminate stress on those ‘I don’t know what to wear’ days.
The jumper was a steal of a find in the ASOS sale and has been one of my best impulse sale buys of late. I’m not normally a fan of such bright neon shades as they tend not to compliment by pale skin but this one won me over. The fit is really cute with a high neck and nipped in waist and the stripey, spotty pattern adds to its fun factor. It was the perfect way to brighten up my otherwise all black and navy outfit.
I finished the look off with my red chain bag, because I like clashing like that, and my furry ear muffs which are the warmest thing on the planet. On a day where we braved the sea winds and climbed above the city, they were most welcomed.
What do you think of my casual NYC look? Are you a fan of neon colours?
