Usually January is my least favourite month, the Christmas festivities come to an end, you have to go back to work and pretend to want to be all healthy and clean living, it’s dark and cold and you plod on through lousy weather while longing for Spring. It drags… And with this January being especially long as a five week month I was truly expecting to hate it.
But it’s now the third of February and I can hardly believe how quickly January went by. I’ve been ridiculously busy and have managed to pack quite a bit in.
It started off rather nicely with my last minute decision to extend my break in Scotland by another week after I found out I needed to be up North for a client meeting anyway. This gave me some extra time at home with the parents, allowed me to spend time with friends and generally relax into the new year.
Once back in London however things returned to their normal frantic pace and work pretty much took over. The snow fell and everyone got carried away with what was essentially a small sprinkling of white dust. Snow days were announced, sledgers, snowboarders and those mad people who just use a binbag all took to their local parks and flung themselves down hills and everyone in the city seemed to put their wellies on, no matter where they were going!
I celebrated Burns night with friends and ate a whole plate of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties- my Dad would be proud! I got back in the game and started running again and managed to avoid most of the sales as much as possible (I say most as the Zara sale got me with those shoes and that bag).
I also dabbled with a bit of DIY and made my own belt with some help from this great tutorial on Kit’s blog (post coming soon).
And here we are in February again- the month of Pancake day, Valentines and of course Fashion Week!
How was your January? Did it drag or go by in a flash?
