Well if last nights storm was anything to go by, it’s definitely time to start wrapping up! I finally got around to the bi- annual wardrobe swap this weekend and packed away all of my lightweight jackets to make room for the coats, scarves and cosy knits.
But, after finding a moth hole in one of my favourite cashmere jumpers (boo), selling most of last seasons shoes to pay for those Wangs and realising my serious lack of clothes that provide warmth and fit into this seasons trends, I have sucummbed to a spot of AW wishlisting to search for those essential new season items.
These are my top cold weather picks…
1. The Patent Skirt – Asos £45
After missing out on the bargainous Antipodium patent skirt in the My-Wardrobe sale (why did I feel the need to tweet about it??) I’ve been searching for something similar and this one is a great alternative. Patent and high shine fabrics are still big news for Winter and I reckon this could see me through a few tricky What to wear moments in the next couple of months! Another alternative is this River Island number which is shorter but has a nice worn effect to it.
2. The Pink mohair rollneck – Asos £30
I spotted this in a pink shoot in the recent issue of the ASOS mag and fell in love – it’s pink, it’s fluffy and it’s super cute. Annoyingly it’s cropped and sleeveless which doesn’t do much on the warmth side but there is always the under clothing heat tech tee to solve that problem. I think this teamed with the patent skirt would be one hell of an outfit!
3. Anton Heunis necklace – My-Wardrobe £355
Yes I’m still coveting an Anton Heunis and no I haven’t yet plucked up the courage to buy one. But a girl can dream right? This blue crystal number is my recent fave!
4. Blue Angora Knit Jumper – Topshop £40
The majority of my wishlist at the moment revolves around knitwear. As soon as there is a bit of a chill in the air I love pulling on a cosy knit. This season I’m loving all of the pastel colours and this Topshop blue number is perfect.
5. Silver Western angle boots – Topshop £95
Well it wouldn’t be much of a wishlist for me without a pair of silver shoes and what could be better than silver ankle boots. I’m in love with this western style but I’ve also set my heart on getting a pair of knee highs this Winter so the magpie in me may have to pipe down for now.
6. Pink Leather Look Mini – River Island £25
This is so Clueless and I heart it! All it needs are some knee high socks, a sheer white blouse and a houndstooth sweater!
7. Pink Pearlescent sequinned skirt – Asos £38
Remember this post where I obsessed about a pink midi skirt? As much as I love the sequinned Topshop unique one this may just be a (much) cheaper alternative. I can’t decide whether it may look a tad tacky up close but I’m willing to give it a try!
8. Blue colourblock jumper – Asos £28
Another blue knit I know but I love anything oversized and this one looks like it would be super comfy. It’s also reduced to £28 at the moment.
9. Blue embellished hairband – Asos £30
I tend to be much more on top of hair accessorising in the Winter, not sure why, perhaps in Summer it just doesn’t seem worth it. This Blair Waldorf esque hairband would be a great finishing touch to any of the above items.
10. Burgundy patent cross body bag – Asos £17.50
I am in dire need of a new bag right now but can’t decide upon a style. I love these cross body chain handle types but I worry I won’t be able to fit all of my essentials in. This one looks just big enough for a small notebook so may just suit.
