About Jaclyn Ruth
Let me introduce myself…
Hello! I’m Jaclyn, a thirty something Scottish gal who has somehow found herself down south for the last decade. I live with my husband and our beautiful daughter in Manchester and in between trying to parent a strong willed and determined little girl, I work as a stylist and content creator.
I’ve been creating on the internet for quite some time now and, at risk of showing my age, I discovered a love for all things digital back when I still had to wait 20 mins for my dial up connection to be made.
After University I pleaded with my older brother to let me kip on his sofa so that I could fulfil my dream of living in the big smoke and chasing a career in fashion. I ended up working in fashion and lifestyle PR for 5 years before deciding to go it alone and leave my full time job in favour of a freelance lifestyle.
Since then my work life has been varied, and exciting, and I’ve worked with brands and agencies both big and small – writing words for websites, online magazines and blogs, creating clickable content and styling products and events. Since having my daughter three years ago, I’ve streamlined my business to focus on the area that I’m most passionate about – styling.
Now, when I’m not dancing to the Moana soundtrack or playing endless games of Peter Rabbit with my toddler, you’ll find me styling up products and food, creating beautiful table settings and climbing on tables to ‘get the shot’.
I started my lifestyle blog back in 2009 but until freelance life beckoned in 2013 it was very much a part time hobby. Now it’s a firm part of my freelance business and has developed into an award winning blog where I share everything from parenting highs and lows to travel adventures and tried and tested recipes. I’ve had the privilege to work with brands such as DFS, Pantene, Marks and Spencer, QVC and Amazon to name a few and have been lucky enough to thank my blog for many wonderful experiences.
What else might you like to know?
It’s my dream to be a wedding stylist one day but for now I’m happy styling up products and creating content for this little internet space. I’m determined to write a book at some point in my lifetime and some of my favourite things to do (if I ever get any time for myself) are to bake, scour car boot sales for vintage bargains, up-cycle furniture, design my dream house, dance around my living room to Fleetwood Mac and shop for shoes.
You’ll find me wearing pink a lot (and trying to sneak as much of it into my home as my Husband will allow), shopping the Aldi special buys on the regular and talking about how wonderful and brilliant my daughter is whenever the opportunity arises.
It’s lovely to have you here, and if you’d like to chat more, or discuss working together on something fun, then pop over to my contact page or email me at: email@example.com
