Even when you are at Fashion Week it’s impossible to keep up with everything that goes on. Ideally I’d like to have about five clones of myself in order to be in all the places I’d like to be at one time.
I managed to fit in a lot this season and I’ve paid for it this week with tiredness but even then there are always shows which clash, or ones you don’t get tickets for, places you can’t make it to and news you miss out on. I very much rely on the Twitter world to keep up to date with all that I’m missing and of course other blogs and websites fuel my intake of celebrity gossip, who wore what and what the shows
I couldn’t make it to didn’t get tickets for, had to offer.
I know sometimes reading show report after show report can be tiring so I thought I’d put together a quick and concise recap on all that you need to know about this London Fashion Week, if even just for myself to remember it all.
Here’s your lazy girls guide to LFW AW13…
On the Streets… Somerset House was quite literally a sea of bright beanies this season, so much so that I almost reconsidered wearing mine on the Sunday due to fear of looking like a victim to the trend that had so ceremoniously emerged in the few days before. It started in NYFW but London took it to a whole new level… all hail the fluoroescent beanie!
On the Catwalks… Of course there were many trends to emerge from the catwalks but the one that stuck out for me, and always a favourite for the Winter season was shiny shiny. I saw it first hand at Ashish and fell in love with their tiny iridescent sequins but Mary Katrantsou was another favourite, developing her signature prints with grown up, stripped back hues and shiny metallics.
On the Celebs… Ok granted these celebs were all spotted at the Burberry show, but these peeptoe Burberry Prorsum wedges seen on three beautiful women on the same day made an impact. I predict a host of high street copies.
The Best Bits… (In my humble opinion)
Best On Schedule Show – Ashish. It was my hit of the season and there is not much I can say that I haven’t already said. I loved everything right down to the Mario style overalls and bright orange braces.
Best FRow – Burberry. Never a more immaculate group of people in one room before, The Frow at Burberry this season risked serious glam overload when seating Rosie, Kate, Rita and Frieda all on the same bench. Let’s just breathe a sigh of relief that they sat Palermo elsewhere as we may not have been able to cope with that much perfection in the same photograph.
At the Shows…Does the high street have a place at Fashion Week as discussed by Susie Bubble
At the Parties...Was Rihanna for River Island all it was cracked up to be?
Backstage… The Harlem shake with Cara and Jourdan.
What to Look Out For…
The Name to Know – Haizhen Wang. Winner of the Fashion Fringe last season and now taking the fashion world by storm, this is the designer to name drop right now.

The Collection to Queue up for – Georgia Hardinge for River Island. This collection is one I’m looking forward to much more than thr Rihanna one. After watching this short film you will be too.
The collaboration to set your calendar for- Danielle Foster x Charlie May. I’m a huge fan of Danielle Foster handbags so when I saw these babies in Charlie May’s show I knew her influence was in there. A collaboration I’m very excited about it’s going to be available on Bengt.com later in the year! Keep an eye out!
Farewell to fashion week for another season!
